This North Vancouver kitchen renovation showcases the elegance of Calacatta Aureo printed quartz, selected by the project’s designer to create a timeless yet bold statement. The soft white background combined with dramatic gold and charcoal veining brings warmth, contrast, and architectural movement to the entire space.
The large kitchen island is designed at 50 inches wide, allowing for approximately a 20-inch overhang on the seating side. This generous overhang creates a comfortable sitting area while maintaining structural integrity and visual balance. The island becomes both a functional workspace and a central gathering point for the home.
A full-height quartz backsplash was installed to maintain continuous veining from countertop to wall. This design approach enhances visual flow and elevates the overall architectural impact of the kitchen. The seamless integration of surface and wall creates a clean, modern luxury aesthetic that is highly sought after in contemporary North Vancouver homes.
For printed quartz countertops, we typically recommend a mitered edge detail. A mitered edge allows the veining to wrap consistently through the profile, creating a thicker, monolithic appearance while preserving the natural movement of the pattern. In this project, a mitered edge was used to achieve a refined and cohesive finish.
Due to temporary unavailability of 2cm slabs, this installation was completed using 3cm Calacatta Aureo quartz. While 3cm provides strength and durability, for printed quartz patterns we generally recommend 2cm with a mitered build-up for a lighter and more architecturally balanced result.
This project reflects expert fabrication, thoughtful designer selection, and premium quartz installation — delivering a luxury kitchen countertop solution in North Vancouver that combines beauty, durability, and long-term performance.
