The Maple Crescent project reflects a carefully balanced material selection, combining artistic natural marble with high-performance engineered quartz.
The backsplash is crafted from Breccia Lunare Marble – Polished 2cm, where dramatic smoky-grey and charcoal veining flows organically across the walls. A special detailing approach allows the veining to transition seamlessly along corners and beneath the window line, creating a continuous architectural feature and elevating the overall design.
For the countertops, Onyx White Quartz – 3cm was intentionally selected for its superior technical performance. While the marble delivers visual drama on the vertical surfaces, quartz offers the durability required for daily kitchen use. Its high density, stain resistance, scratch resistance, and low porosity make it an ideal surface for food preparation areas. The 3cm thickness adds structural strength and a refined, substantial appearance.
Choosing quartz for the working surfaces ensures long-term practicality and minimal maintenance while maintaining a clean, luminous aesthetic that complements the expressive marble backsplash.
This thoughtful material pairing creates a kitchen that is both visually striking and functionally resilient—perfectly suited for modern living in Vancouver.
